Intense Pulse Light, or IPL technology treats a variety of skin conditions such as poikiloderma, signs of photo-aging, birthmarks, small veins, broken capillaries, and other blemishes.  It is safe and tailored to your individual condition and skin type.

The first step in inquiring about IPL is to schedule an IPL consultation with our estheticians where your medical history will be evaluated to ensure candidacy.  During this evaluation, the esthetician may perform a few pulses, or test patch, on the concerned areas.

For your first treatment and those thereafter, a cold gel is applied to the area to be treated and dark glasses or coverings are used to protect your eyes from the bright light.  The IPL hand piece is applied to the skin and pulses of light are shone.  You may feel a slight sting, like the snapping of a small rubber band.  IPL can be used effectively on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and other areas of the body.

Depending on the number of conditions you are treating, and the severity of the individual problem, a series of six or more treatments may be recommended.  You can return to work the same day and resume most regular activities.  By dividing the treatments into several appointments, the procedure provides gradual improvement with very low risk and with no down time feature people appreciate so much.  Skin imperfections can detract from your well being and appearance, no matter how healthy you feel.
